Pretty cool stuff, love the glitch-hop/trap kinda sound out of this, definitely stands out against most of what I hear on site.

Nothing I can really say negatively on it, just flows together nicely and a good chill out track

Oh man, that was a satisfying track, that bass has so much character to it that makes it stand out from what I usually hear.

I like the foley touches, adds great atmosphere in the down sections.

Keep up this kind of work, you've got some monster bass.

Obelion responds:

If you like that sort of bass, you might like the neurofunk genre in general. There are lots of exellent tracks out there. While I produced Korona, I listened to a lot of Billain, Mefjus, Joe Ford, Phace and Misanthrop. Maybe they have plenty more basses for you to enjoy :)

Good track, a few suggestions that might step it up a notch:
-A few of the sections in the first half of the song leaves the low shelf pretty quiet, if you could add a little bit of lower frequencies in those sections you only use the whiny synth, it could give it a much fuller sound and would probably aid those bits out in this track (later on in the song where you run the vocals alongside it, it covers those freqs)
-You could go for some new drumkits there, there's a few places out there with them for free and royalty free if you dig around a bit (I use musicradar personally, good selection there)
-Vocals sounded a little loud early on, -2Db and it should be spot on :)
-I like the build ups you did in this

Overall good track, has ALOT of potential :)

ps: Did you do this in FL Studio? A part of me wants to take a peek at the project file and take a crack at a remix :)

Thanks for your suggestions you seem to know a lot :D

All around solid track!

Love the bassline on this, the drumline feeds into it beautifully.

Also those scratches(?), those sound amazing in the background, great work on that!

I can't think of anything I heard that could use work, the whole track just works :)

definately agree below about the clipping, it gets pretty rough when the saws come in....you can get that hard hitting sound with some crafty compression and/or gating

-That offbeat bass is AWESOME.
-some of the voices are drowned out by your saws, maybe some stereo seperation like the "wide" deep voices or some gain?
-Catchy as all hell XD
-I can barely hear a clap in there....really needs to be pulled up unless you were going for it kinda pulled back

Pretty good stuff, just needs some mastering

Sounds professionally done, just an all around great feel

-during the intro, the panning sounded a little off-center...might've just been me but if it was moving around like it does in later bits it would sound a bit smoother
-around 2:25 or so, that keyboard you bring in sounds like it's peaking a hair
-omg 3:25 <3
-Phenomenal mastering other than that keyboard, everything feels like it's adding to the track in one way or another
-there's a slight ring in your bass, but that's probably just the player NG uses (higher bitrates fix that)

Love this track to death, got a download off of me!

camamassa21 responds:

Thanks buddy, one of the most insightful reviews i've gotten.

Interesting atmosphere to this one, nice and laid back through the intro

A few things:

-Those pads you bring in from the intro on: put a cutoff somewhere on the high shelf, they're ringing like there's some resonance and it hurts the overall mixing a bit when it's the main thing you hear
-The kicker could be a touch louder, not by much though
-Great work with the reverb in this, there's a ton of it without it sounding overused, which can be trickier said than done!
-Outtro could've been a little smoother on the transition, felt a little abrupt, a few extra bars wouldn't hurt to ease your way out of it

Definately like the track!

wulfsok responds:

You're the shit. Thank you for the criticism! =)

Sounds good, just a few things:

-The padwork in the back seems a touch quiet when you put it behind the lead, in those quiet bits you could really pull that forward to add some ambience to it
-That drumline kinda makes the ears bleed a bit.....you should poke around a bit and see if you can snag some new instruments for that. The later kick could use a little side-chaining to emphasize it a bit.
-Great piano work, loved the sound
-Your saws could use a little stereo seperation, it'll make them sound awesome

overall I like it, with a little bit of work this track could be amazing!

Thanks for the advice!

Chaoz still has it's kick :)

Loved the track, you definately know it's ParagonX9 when you hear it, but it has unique vibe to it (and this strange old school Sonic track feel to it)

Man I'd love to hear some breaktrance sometime from you, this one has a strong trance feel to it while still keeping that DnB feel. Especially loved that 2:00 section to break things up.

So here's what I've got for ya, 9/10, 5/5.

A little too fast

Slow down the tempo man! You're pushing it so fast the drumline comes out as a garbled mess. Try nudging it down to around 160-170bpm

I can get a feel for what you intended with this, you seem to know what you want to do, but can't find the right instruments for it.

I'd suggest you avoid the Hoovers for DnB, and instead try using slides on your notes or some portamento on the instrument itself, this will give you much, much more control over your instruments.

Another suggestion to throw out there is to start small with your drumlines, some of the best sounding drumlines aren't neccesarily the most complex.
Try starting out with a snare every other measure, and move 2 kickers around in that pattern and see how each location feels. From there, add another kicker if it feels like an area needs it.
If you want to pull it all together a little more, using an open hat every beat where there is no kicker or snare can act as a starting point before setting up the hats.

Keep at it, don't be afraid to put a trance sound into your DnB if you're strong in trance. Take a listen to Dumonde - Human [Ill Skillz Remix], that DnB track has a strong trance feel and is pretty solid

Sanity is grossly overrated and detrimental to the creative process.
