Nice

Sick drumline, wish I had instruments like that on hand, I could have some fun with them

Unique

something of it's own, definately fits the DnB cat though.

needs some mastering help though, alot of static and peaking with the drumline

not bad

Alot of presets, but catchy as all hell!

ps: mind if I try remixing this? :)

MomoSmoothie responds:

Yeah everything except the beats was done with sytrus.. which i really have no clue how to use properly so yeah.. :P
But yeah thx for the review,
and yeah sure i dont mind at all if you remix it, in fact id feel really special inside lol :P

Not bad

Just need to get a more powerful kicker in there imo, one with a little punchiness to it and a longer release

Song sorta felt a bit repetitive from the start till around 1:40

The bit after 2:00 is WAY too loud and is peaking like crazy, no to mention it sounds a little out of tune with the other instruments

lastly, try to make a climactic finish to the song instead of a simple fadeout, it sounds much, much better

Keep at it!

Sanryd responds:

AWESOME< thanks for the review. I'll take all those things into account. I was going to hold onto this until the vocals were done (currently being recorded), but decided I needed to get reviews and tips to fix it before the final release. I'm glad i did, cause i completely missed a number of the things you brought up. :)

Nice

I'm getting a laugh out of the guys below that havn't played Starfox 64, that's pretty much the gem of the series

The instruments in this are pretty obvious FL presets, but you did a kickass job with them

X-Infinity-Zero responds:

yea its weird that a lot of people havent played Starfox64 or the original Starfox for the snes. i mean you really havent played a real starfox game until uv played those.

yea i do use a lot of presets in a lot of my songs but i just havent taken the time to make my own sounds from the presets. i need to start doing that tho but i try to make the best out of the presets that are on FL.

thanks for the review.

glad you liked it.

Nice track

I loved that intro you had going, reminds me a bit of Helix's industrial stuff

For the genre, I'd call this either breakbeat (too slow for DnB, but DnB is the closest to DnB there is on NG for genres) or dark step

The atmosphere was pretty nice in this one, it seemed like on top of the song itself, there's a aura of sorts in the background giving the less busy parts of the song more energy.

No real complaints about this aside from the length, it's really short, but sick

cycerin responds:

Darkstep is what I'd call it. But you know how NG is with subgenres. :)
Thank you for the review.

o.o

This could make for an insane DnB track, increase the bass on your master effects, you'll see what I mean

Alot of your instruments go quiet near the end, potentially awesome stuff sorta drops out of the picture, make sure you keep the parts you want people to hear the most the louder bits ;)

ps: could you send me a copy of your project file for this? I want to try something with your score for the helluvit

Sanryd responds:

hey man, i can send u the project file for this, but you wont be that happy cause it is in Dance Ejay 7. PM me if u still want it.

*blown back 40 feet*

Quiet the master/bass's volume down!! o.o;
It's causing the whole song to become staticy (aka peaking)

The song itself is pretty good, breaktrance stuff always has appealed to me :)

Fix that volume up and this song'll be pretty nice :)

Jockk responds:

Yeah you're right, the bass is to loud, I'll try lowering it. THanks a lot for the review

Needs some mastering work

The drums are loud yeah, but that's not the main issue, you need to boost up your basslines a bit. Even with my nice headphones on the quieter/deeper bassline doesn't have enough of a kick to it

The hoovers are ok, not the best instrument to slip in there imo, but it works out.

Your main lead seems out of tune in the last note of the pattern

It's a good start though I guess, the drumline was good

7/10
4/5

NavLoops responds:

I made this as a joke. I did some mastering on it, simply by putting a notch at 4.5khz, some EQing and a Master Limiter.

There are no hoovers... just something I made in 3xOsc. I guess it sounds a bit like a hoover.

I don't really know... I didn't think anyone would comment on the melody anyways... I was criticized by Endlessnumber for having minor seconds... but its ok.

The drumline was good, eh? Download it... I made those breaks, and I've been uploading them for free: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/8 33332.

This song was made really as a joke. I have some actual drum and bass songs, with growling reeses and punchy hits in the works. Just wait and see... They'll be on my main, Navij11, if at all.

Great!

Progressive trance that sounds like Goa Psy \o/

You did a VERY nice job at building up the atmosphere, the pads in the background were really high in quality, and the strings only added more to the feeling when they came in. The intro was very nice also, the vocal bits here and there did wonders!

Definite download from me, there's alot to this song, can't just listen to it once :)

cycerin responds:

Yep, I'm heavily goa inspired. Infected Mushroom is one of my favourite artists. :)

Sanity is grossly overrated and detrimental to the creative process.
